What are the black spots all over my vinyl siding?

The black spots are called Artillery Fungus also known as Shotgun Fungus. The fungus likes to live on moist landscaping mulch; it is white in color and about 1/10 of an inch in size. The artillery fungus shoots its spore masses several feet and is attracted to light and highly reflective surfaces such as white house siding. The appearances of the spores shot out are tiny black spots.
